Background Checks

A client may request a background check done for many reasons, one of which may include wanting to know more about the man their beloved daughter is planning to marry, or an individual needing to find out if the person they met last week is married or not, or even a business person wanting to check out a potential employee who has filled out an application form and the information is not detailed enough, or the referees that have been submitted are not available.

There are many more reasons to do a background check on someone.  One client wanted to buy a property and wanted to know what the neighbours either side were like.  Unusual? Yes, however, it some ways it makes sense and in that case I would find out their names, then run a background check on them.

A Basic check is quite popular as it is not as expensive as a full diligent Comprehensive check and costs the client never more than $200AUS.

The basic background check includes information such as their date of birth, their current mobile, their current address, if they own property or are renting accommodation, if they are self-employed or work for a company and if so, the name of that company and possibly even what role they played as they may have told the client they were the Manager when in fact they were not.  Another important check is to know if they have made an appearance in court in any State of Australia and if so, was it civil or criminal.

The Comprehensive check will include the Basic Checks above as well as finding out if they are currently married, or living in a de facto relationship with anyone and if so, who?  It also involves checking if, or has been a bankrupt, the Directors of their company and so forth.

The Comprehensive check will take longer because perhaps the client would like to know what car they drive, are they on social media, have they moved much and quite often asks us to ‘discreetly’ phone friends and relatives of the person they want checked out.  This task is carried out very stealthily and the person being checked will never know.

The Comprehensive check can be tailor made to suit yourself so in that case simply list down the things you would like checked and we will oblige.  Prices vay of course, however, a Comprehensive check will be a cost of between $800AUS and $1,200AUS.
